Adult Referees Needed

Traralgon Amateur Basketball Association are seeking expressions of interest from adults who are willing to re-engage in as a referee or learn how to referee basketball.
We are currently experiencing a referee shortage, and this is placing pressure on our young officials and on the competition as a whole. With an additional 10–15 adult referees, we would greatly reduce the number of games that are left with only one referee.
We appreciate the enthusiasm and dedication of our young referees, but we also need adults who bring confidence and life experience to help manage situations that may arise on court.
You don’t have to commit to a full night — even doing one game before or after your child’s game is a massive help. And don’t worry if you haven’t refereed before, we will teach you what you need to know, and you will be supported every step of the way.

Here’s what you can expect:

• Payment for each game

• Training, guidance and support

• A fun way to be involved

• A chance to support the TABA community

• Health and wellbeing

Lots of parents and former players have stepped in over the years — some because their kids play, some because they enjoy being around basketball, and others simply because they like giving back.
If you’re interested (even just a little!), please reach out, we would love to chat with you.
