TABA would like to announce that team entries for the upcoming 2021/2022 Summer Season have now opened for both junior and senior competitions. The 2021/2022 season will commence on the 4th October 2021 and end in April 2022.

TABA’s very own Jade Melbourne has continued her basketball success story at the recent FIBA Under 19 World Cup held in Hungry in August 2021.
Jade and her Gems progressed through the Group Phase and into the quarter finals to play Canada of whom they won 72-61. After winning to Mail in the Semi Finals 62-50 they earned themselves a spot in the Gold Medal game again the USA. Unfortunate, the Gems lost to the talented USA outfit 70-52, nevertheless earing them an impressive silver medal.
Jade played a key leadership role for the Gems and her performance throughout the tournament was consistent and strong averaging 12.6 points, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. This earned her a spot in the tournaments All-Star Five.
Michelle Timms quoted on her Facebook page “Jayde Melbourne’s awesome tournament continues; I’m advancing her to Opals squad this kid can play and finds lanes and passing angles as good as anyone -def solid too”.
Since the world cup, Jade was named in the Opals squad for the 2021 FIBA Asian Cup which will be held in Amman, Jordan from 26 September to 3 October.
TABA are extremely proud of Jade’s continuing success on the court and look forward to seeing more of her basketball journey unfold.
