2024 Traralgon “Labour Day” Tournament

 

Entries are now open for the 2024 Traralgon Tournament.

The tournament will be held from Saturday, March 9 to Monday, March 11, 2024.

Entry information:

  • Entry registration link is now open (see link below)
  • Team entry fee is $440.00 inc. GST
  • All entries must be in by Friday, February 16th 2024
  • Due to court, referee and time availability, team entries will be capped … so ENTER NOW to avoid disappointment
  • Teams will be guaranteed four games over the weekend
  • Fixtures, results and ladders will be published on the PlayHQ website

Aussie Hoops Term 3 – Registrations Now Open

 

Aussie Hoops is the perfect program to introduce the game of basketball to those aged 5 – 7 years old. First time participants will receive an official Aussie Hoops starter pack!

Aussie Hoops fee:

New participants (including compulsory participant pack to the value of $42.99) … $117.49

Returning participant … $74.50

Commences Friday July 14th for ten (10) sessions, concluding Friday September 15th and runs for 45 minutes from 4.00pm each session.

Position Available – Administration Officer

 

Traralgon Amateur Basketball Association (TABA) is seeking a motivated person to fill the role of an Administration Officer to operate the TABA Office on the nights of domestic competition.

The role expectation is for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday which will encompass approximately 16 hours per week. Hours will be subject to change from season to season due to varying fixtures of each competition/season. Applicants may be considered if only available to fulfill two of the four nights on offer.

The role is for an immediate start and training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Essential requirements –

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous administration experience is essential
  • Must have Working With Children Check
  • Basketball Victoria Member Protection Document is essential

Traralgon T-Birds Junior Tryout Registration Open NOW

 

Online registrations are now open for the Traralgon T-Birds junior representative tryouts for U10’s to U18’s.

AGE GROUPS

U10’s Born 2015, 2016.
U12’s Born 2013, 2014.
U14’s Born 2011, 2012.
U16’s Born 2009, 2010.
U18’s Born 2007, 2008.

COST

A registration fee of $5.00 per athlete is required to contribute to court hire fees.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for representative registration and/or selection, an athlete must have played for one (1) Full Winter and one (1) Full Summer domestic season of TABA competition preceding into the up-and-coming representative season, including meeting finals qualification requirements for both preceding seasons.

Note: Exceptions to this representative eligibility rule are:

  • any athlete who permanently resides in Traralgon who has relocated from another region or state
  • any TABA Under 10 representative athletes

Should circumstances arise where an athlete is unable to attend due to illness or injury, or travel, notification must be made to the Representative Coordinator via Squad@traralgonbasketball.net.au

Injured athletes are expected to attend every tryout session even if they are unable to participate.

2023 Under 8’s Domestic Competition

 

Registrations are open for all intending Under 8 athletes in both girls and boys for the upcoming 2023 winter season.

The Under 8 competition, which will commence on May 1, 2023 and run through to September 15, 2023 is for girls and boys born in the years of 2016 and 2017.

Registration costs for the Under 8 competition is:

TABA Registration Fee – Under 8’s = $60.00
Basketball Victoria Licence Fee – Junior = $26.00

Additional Information

Teams will be compiled by TABA.

Singlets and coaches will be provided, however you will need to purchase your own black basketball shorts.

Once the registration period is closed and teams have been compiled, all parents with receive an email with more information on the upcoming season.

Tournament Referees EOI

 

The Traralgon Tournament committee are accepting Expressions Of Interest (EOI’s) for their upcoming tournament in March from Saturday 11th to the Monday 13th (Labour Day Weekend).

Referees will be:

  • paid $20.00 per game ($25.00 for Grand Finals)
  • catered for with quality food across the weekend
  • able to access a sports physio on location to keep you on court

Charlie Hamilton to experience Boomers opportunity

 

TABA has been fortunate enough to secure a “COME TRAIN WITH US” session with the Melbourne Boomers and Charlie Hamilton has been awarded this amazing opportunity.

Charlie’s “Come Train With Us” opportunity will consist of three days immersion into the life of a WNBL Athlete and insights on what it takes to play professional basketball.

Charlie will get to learn from some of the best with this opportunity on January 19, 20 and 22 at the Melbourne Sports Centre, Parkville.

Lead by Tess Madgen (Boomers Academy Head Coach and Opals Captain) this program is tailored for elite junior females to experience a professional WNBL athlete environment. The experience includes unprecedented access to athletes including Cayla George, Tiffany Mitchell and Kristy Wallace.

Coaches for the program will include Micaela Cocks (NZ International and 3-time WNBL Champion), Lilly Scanlon (Melbourne Boomers) and Bella Niven-Brown (Melbourne Boomers).
