Child safety is a core part of our culture. Traralgon Basketball actively works to embed child-safe practices across all levels of our organisation, including competitions, programs, events and volunteer involvement.

- Ensuring child safety is understood and upheld by coaches, volunteers, officials, staff and members of our basketball community
Child Safety Officer (CSO)
Did you know Traralgon Basketball has a dedicated Child Safety Officer (CSO)?
- Our CSO is appointed by the TABA Board and serves as the primary contact for all child safety enquiries or concerns.
- The Child Safety Officer’s role focuses on providing oversight, guidance and support, as well as ensuring appropriate reporting to relevant authorities where required.
- This role helps ensure a child-safe environment is maintained at all times and that our obligations under the Child Safe Standards are met.
Key Responsibilities of the CSO
- Acting as the main point of contact for child safety matters
- Providing advice and guidance on child safety concerns
- Supporting reporting processes and liaising with appropriate authorities when necessary
- Promoting awareness of child-safe practices across the association
- Assisting in embedding child safety into the culture of Traralgon Basketball
