Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official introductory program, providing a fun and inclusive Basketball experience for 5-10-year-olds that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of involvement in the game. In addition to promoting healthy and active lifestyles, the program serves as a platform for social development and inclusion – fostering stronger and more vibrant communities and individuals.

TABA Aussie Hoops Program Details:

• Programs run each school term, all year round (terms 1 – 4)
• Each term can run from 6-10 weeks (generally 8 weeks)
• Participants can register and complete more than 1 term
• 1 session per week, duration of 45 minutes 
• Runs on a Friday afternoon from 4.00pm to 4.45pm (subject to change)
• Sessions are for both boys and girls
• Open for ages 5-10, however as TABA offer an under 8’s program it is ideally for 5-7 year old’
• TABA recommended to children to complete 1 or more terms before progressing to our Under 8 program where possible

Fees and Charges?

$74.50 (TABA registration fee $65.00 + Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia membership fees)

NEW Participants – Aussie Hoops packs are available when registering, ranging from $50.00.

How to register?

Registrations are completed via Traralgon Basketball Associations PlayHQ profile.

TABA will advertise the program information and registration periods via their facebook page, usually 3-4 weeks before the commencement of each term.

TABA’s Under 8’s program has proved to be a great step in between Aussie Hoops and the Under 10’s competition.
